Recent developments in the US have seen a rise in US-based investors seeking to deploy personal or business capital in real estate assets in the UK and Germany.  This presentation will review the prevalent property ownership structures employed across the UK and Europe by US investors, and focus on the common issues seen with inbound US investors into the UK and European property markets. The discussion will offer insights into the following aspects of US-based investors interest in real estate assets across the UK, Germany, and Europe:

SPEAKERS


Mark Rajbenbach
is Co-Head of Taylor Wessing’s International Real Estate group. Mark has nearly 20 years of experience advising clients on corporate real estate and commercial property matters. He is recognized for his client focus and high degree of commercial acumen that allows him to make judgement calls beyond the normal breadth of the legal profession. Mark guides clients through all aspects of commercial and corporate issues including, investment sales and purchases and leases, structured acquisitions and disposals, real estate joint ventures, and corporate real estate transactions. Mark also has a particular expertise in the hotels and leisure and logistics sector, where he advises on hotel portfolio sales and purchases, hotel leases and management agreements, sale and leaseback, and sale and management-backed transactions.

Victoria Butcher 
is a Partner in Taylor Wessing’s Real Estate team. She advises clients on a variety of commercial property and corporate real estate matters, including investment sales, purchases and leases, structured acquisitions and disposals, and financing transactions. Victoria frequently advises overseas clients from across Europe, the US and the Middle East on complex, cross-border transactions, working closely with our international colleagues. She has particular expertise in the hotels and leisure, office and logistics sectors, having advised on large scale hotel and industrial portfolio acquisitions and disposals, the acquisition of hotel trophy assets and office headquarters, restructures, and sale and leaseback transactions.
